Sanches Named CVAC Tennis Player Of The Week
March 15, 2006THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Carlos Sanches of Anderson University (9-1 overall, 6-0 CVAC) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (CVAC) men’s tennis Player of the Week. Sanches helped Anderson increase its winning streak to eight by going undefeated for the week. The Trojans beat arch-rival Erskine then knocked off two South Atlantic teams, Tusculum and Mars Hill. In three singles matches, Sanches lost a total of eight games. In doubles, Sanches and his partner Gustavo Carvalho lost just three games in three matches. Sanches has won eight straight singles matches without dropping a set, and he and Carvalho have won eight straight doubles matches.
