Two AC Players Reach Semis At Regional Tournament
October 4, 2005SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Two Anderson College players reached the final two rounds in their respected brackets at the Wilson/ITA Regional Tournament last weekend at Armstrong Atlantic State. Philippe Magat, a sophomore from Paris, France, made the semi-finals in the main draw, while Lucas Moraes, a freshman from Varginha, Brazil, made the finals in the B draw. Magat defeated Arthur Figueiro of Augusta State, David Secker of Armstrong Atlantic, Rodrigo Yamauti of Georgia College and State, and Chatwinder Singh of Francis Marion before losing to Kevin Taylor of Francis Marion, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 in one of the semi-finals. Moraes defeated John Percival of USC Aiken, Christian Aguilar of Limestone, Matthew Jackson of Barton, and Frederico Mendes of Augusta State before falling to Akshay Challeppa of Lander, 7-6, 6-3 in the final.
