New Awning Added At AC Tennis Courts

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Two local companies have helped improve the look of the Max Grubbs Memorial Tennis Courts on the Anderson College campus. The awning between the lower four courts has been replaced thanks to Glen Raven Mills, Inc., and Anderson Boat Canvas. "We are gratefully to Leib Oehmig of Glen Raven Mills for donating the material for the project and to Jim Moore of Anderson Boat Canvas for his excellent workmanship on the awning," said Anderson College athletic director Bobby Beville. "We appreciate their support of our tennis programs." After lasting more than a decade, the original awning started developing some holes and was removed in late February. The new dark green awning provides shade for several sets of aluminum stands that are used by both spectators and players during home matches.
