Dembroski Earns Golfer of the Month HonorsApril 1, 2010
ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson senior Sophie Dembroski has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Women's Golf Player of the Month during the month of March. Dembroski shot a career-best second-round 70 as the Gahanna, Ohio, native claimed individual medalist honors at the Dana Rader Intercollegiate hosted by Pfeiffer at the par-72 5,830 yard Ballantyne Golf Resort in Charlotte earlier this month. She began the final day in a tie for 11th, notched five birdies and shaved eight strokes off her opening-round 78 to shoot a low-round 70 and help lead the Trojans to a school-record 309 and third place. The senior also paced AU at the Ralph Hargett Invitational this past weekend, as the Trojans garnered fifth place. Dembroski and her teammates will be back in action when the Trojans wrap up their regular season by competing in the Agnes McAmis Memorial, hosted by Tusculum College at the Link Hill Hills Country Club on April 12-13.
