Women's Golf Team Finishes Fifth

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Anderson University women's golf team moved up one place to finish fifth in the Ralph Hargett Invitational at the Olde Sycamore Golf Club Tuesday. Belmont Abbey won the 12-team event with a 36-hole total of 643. Rounding out the top five were host Wingate (685), Tusculum (707), Newberry (711), and Anderson (715). Franziska Blum of Newberry won the individual title with a total of 155 (78-77). Liz Cortez (157) and Carley Warrington (158), both of Belmont Abbey, finished second and third, respectively. Anderson was led by Sophie Dembroski, who finished 10th with a total of 166 (83-83). Anderson's other second-round scores were Hayley Parks (87), Lindsay Vallo (88), and Elizabeth Belanger (91).
