Anthony Named Player Of The Week
December 19, 2007THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Nikki Anthony of Anderson University (7-1 overall, 2-1 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's basketball Player of the Week for week number five of the 2007-08 season. Anthony, a 6-foot-2 transfer from Florida State, recorded two more double-doubles to lead Anderson to a pair of home victories this week. The senior from Pickens, S.C., scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against North Greenville. Then while battling a flu bug, she came off the bench to score 20 points and pull down 17 rebounds against Claflin. Anthony has six double-doubles in eight games this year. For the season she is averaging 14.6 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. She has 90 total rebounds, 45 offensive and 45 defensive.
